Today a biohacker's protocol lives in spreadsheets, forum posts and chat prompts — not comparable, not followable, not readable by a physician. BIOHACK.IT turns it into structured, shareable data.

Open by default

Publish your protocol and its outcomes. Follow and copy the people who get results, seeing their public biomarkers. Quality comes from three layers: deterministic validation, community review, expert oversight.

What makes it computable

The same protocol, written three ways, is one entity.

This is the whole project in three lines. Today a dose lives as prose in a forum post, a screenshot, or a spreadsheet nobody else can read. We turn it into something a machine — and a researcher — can actually use.

The plan

From one person to a distributed trial.

We are building in the open. The full functional specification — 26 capabilities, 150+ requirements across protocols, biomarkers, safety, community and open data — is public and browsable, and grows with community review. What we build first is deliberately much narrower than what we have specified.

Deliberately deferred until those land: procurement, advanced nutrition, therapeutics scheduling, genomics beyond import, agent access. Breadth in thinking, discipline in shipping.

  • Rigor is a design decision, not a disclaimer. The platform describes, never prescribes; every claim is graded to its evidence.
  • The LLM writes words, never numbers. Extraction, thresholds and indices are deterministic and reproducible.
  • Safety is not opt-in. Follow a protocol and you inherit its safety markers and a mandatory baseline.
  • Open by code and by data. AGPL software; the public dataset is a clonable snapshot anyone can self-host.

About

The Software and the Foundation.

biohack.it is an effort begun in 2022 by Fabio Pietrosanti — a hacker who turned to biology when his mother died of lung cancer. That loss set his focus on the biology of aging; he became a biohacker himself, and set out to give the international community the instrument he wished for himself in hacking his own biology.

The software and the initiative: an open platform for the biohacking and longevity community to document protocols and measure them, together, in the open.

Hacking Biology Foundation

The non-profit foundation behind the initiative — it manages the project and its development, guarantees it never becomes commercial, and pursues social objectives in the service of biohackers and longevity.

We build on the shoulders of others and act as a connector of their data effort: Evipedia (Forever Healthy, CC BY 4.0), the AI4L evidence framework, get-based, and open vocabularies (LOINC, UCUM, RxNorm, OMOP, FHIR). The community already exists on Rapamycin News; now it gets its instrument.
